Hands are our Life - Referrals, Fees and Rebates

Clients are generally referred to our clinics by medical doctors, including general practitioners, orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, rheumatologists, plastic and general surgeons.
We also accept clients that are referred by other treatment facilities, such as hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, occupational therapists and other allied health advisors.
However, clients do NOT need a referral to see our team here at Hands are our Life. You may make an appointment without a referral. Please contact us for more information.
Private patients may receive a rebate from their private health fund if cover includes ancillary services for Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy. Depending on the insurance policy, there may also be a rebate applicable to some splints and equipment required that are custom-made for the needs of your treatment. It’s always worth asking us to apply on your behalf for such extras.
Our HICAPS facility is available at our clinics with Hands are our Life for on-the-spot health fund rebate. Just bring your private health insurance card with you to the appointment.
In some circumstances, rebate from Medicare may be available if your Family Doctor approves you for the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Programme.
To claim for an EPC, you must enquire through your Family Doctor.
All Hands are our Life staff are WorkCover-approved specialist therapists. We also treat all patients with Patients of Workers' Compensation, Compulsory Third Party (CTP), North Coast Aboriginal Cooperation for Community Health (NCACCH) and Department of Veteran Affairs.
For these insurers with valid file numbers you do not have to pay for consultations. We will directly claim from the relevant insurance company.
